In the channel strip for an audio channel, when in mono, there's a small empty box at the top, with a circle next to it.

I'm having trouble figuring out what it is.

If I double click in that box, a zero appears, and it will accept numbers, not letters...

If technology is working, there's an image attached to this missive...

Any ideas?

This is Logic Pro X 10.2.2

I'm using apogee duet, the original one, and, obviously a max....el capitan.

Figured it out, it's used if I don't go thru the Duet , and use the mac's mic and output options instead.

thanks
